Testifying as an expert witness
I help individuals and families navigate the healthcare system — sitting beside you in the hospital, attending appointments, translating medical jargon, coordinating between providers, and making sure your voice is heard. When something goes wrong, I document it, push back, and connect you with the right next step. No legal background needed on your end — that's my job.
I support patients, parents, and employees fighting for the accommodations and access they're legally entitled to. That includes IEP and 504 plan reviews, ADA accommodation letters, Title II and Title III complaints, and SSDI, SSI, VA, and LTD disability claim support. I bring clinical evidence and plain-language advocacy to a process that's intentionally complicated.
For patients, I review itemized bills and EOBs, catch errors and duplicate charges, dispute surprise bills under the No Surprises Act, and negotiate directly with hospitals and providers. For practices, I clean up claims, handle denials, audit coding accuracy (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, modifiers, E/M leveling), and build compliance into your billing workflow.
I conduct independent audits for providers, payers, and attorneys — chart-to-claim reviews, E/M leveling audits, HCC risk-adjustment validation, fraud and abuse pattern analysis, and compliance audits. Every audit comes with a written findings report and recommended corrective actions, written so non-coders can act on it.
I draft denial appeals grounded in clinical guidelines and medical necessity — first-level, second-level, ERISA, IMR, Medicare, Medicaid, and state Department of Insurance complaints. Most denials are beatable with the right argument and the right evidence; I build both.
Drawing on my FNE-CSA (Forensic Nurse Examiner — Child Sexual Assault) credential, I provide forensic medical-record review for sexual assault, strangulation, elder abuse, and child abuse cases — for attorneys, advocacy organizations, and individual survivors. Confidential survivor consultations available at individual-client rates.
As an independent MAKE Wellness Coach, I offer free 15-minute consultations to talk through your health goals, energy, recovery, sleep, mood, hydration, and focus — and how MAKE Wellness products may fit into your routine. There's no fee for coaching; clients are expected to purchase products through my coaching link. I'm always available for a quick conversation about products or your wellness goals.
I speak to attorneys, nurses, healthcare leaders, advocacy organizations, and community groups on patient advocacy, the medical-legal intersection, disability rights, healthcare equity, and trauma-informed care. Formats include keynotes, CLE/CEU workshops, panels, conference breakouts, podcast guest appearances, and community talks. Speaking fees are custom-quoted based on format, audience, travel, and prep. Reduced and pro-bono rates are always available for nonprofits and patient-advocacy organizations — because amplifying these issues matters more than the invoice.
